SRT Council

The Society of Radiologists in Training is a UK based trainee led organisation comprised of Elected and nominated officials.
The aim of the Society is to promote Radiology to medical students, foundation doctors, Radiology trainees and trainees from other specialities. To hold an annual conference which by convention is held at the site of the elected Presidents training scheme.
Council members meet via skype at least 6 times during the year. There is also a formal meeting held annually where the committee members get to meet, discuss pertinent issues and socialise. Committee members are expected to attend at least 50% of the skype/google conferencing in a year.
In May 2015 after the very successful SRT Conference in North Wales, The SRT Council members decided to introduce a nominated representative from each of the four devolved nations (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) in order to ensure continuity of presence across the country.
A medical student representative (must be within 2 years of graduating in the UK) and a Fondation doctor representative have been welcomed to the committee so as to maintain and promote radiology to trainees at different stages of their medical careers.
At the London annual conference in May 2014, Dr Susie Shelmerdine (SRT President 2013-14) indroduced Dr Kshitij Mankad as the first consultant Adisor to the committee. Dr K Mankad is a consultant neuroradiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and & Programme Director of Radiology Recipes Limited.
